Reaction to Dibbell
While interacting with people online under a self created identity seems like a way to remove oneself from awkward interactions with people face to face, Dibbell shows how online interactions can affect people just as deeply as face to face interactions, in a traumatic way. It seems like there needs to be new definitions of how to interact with people online and how this differs from interacting with people face to face. I think some rules of etiquette apply for both, and some differ. Regardless, people need to be careful and respectful.
